high street, prahran

As many of you know, Montreux moved to High Street, Prahran, a little over three years ago and I really couldn't think of a better location. So much so, we decided to open our sister store Trove, just a few doors down.

We are delighted to have both Montreux and Trove featured in this months (June edition) of Home Beautiful.

stoneware bottles

It is no secret that I love old stoneware bottles. We have sold so many over the years and have always had a few tucked away for styling and for stylists to hire.

These bottles come in varying shapes and sizes and in all shades of white through to beige look beautiful individually or as a collection.

Just when I thought we were down to our last few, I have been fortunate enough to come across a large collection which we now have available for sale at Trove.

We are very excited to have received our first delivery of beautiful porcelain bowls designed by Belgian sculptress Dominique Mosseray.

Domonique is a design artist who moves between sandstone and porcelain and has put together a porcelain collection, the ultimate expression of her passion for exceptional shapes, her artistic feel and her preference for 'pièces uniques'.

The collection is exquisite and is best explained as an organic mix of design and user friendliness (ok for both the microwave and the dishwasher !!)

We have almost sold out of our first delivery of these bowls and are awaiting another delivery later this week. Platters will also be available in the not too distant future.

he who hesitates...

These fabulous french cafe chairs arrived last Friday at Trove and have now all been sold!  (They didn't even last the week.) They looked so nice sitting out the front of the shop!

it's the small things...

Limited quantity of french zinc barrels are now back in stock at Trove. They make great side tables turned upside down or are perfect for firewood or plants (or simply for a big bunch of flowers).                                                                                                   

gobble gobble....

...fresh in from Turkey, these overdyed vintage carpet cushions in the most incredible colours!

Available now at Montreux.  They are 48cm square and are easy for us to post (without insert) to our country and interstate customers !

inspiration....even when you're not looking for it

It would come as no shock to those who know me  that I love 'old stuff'....Many would also know that I am a magazine junkie. More recently I have found myself spending way too much of my time getting lost in blogland. My excuse is that I am always looking for a bit of inspiration.

A beautiful sunny day, tripping around our fabulous countryside was all the inspiration I needed. It was right there....even though I wasn't looking for it!
